Dear Emma B. Ward Families,

On behalf of the staff at Emma B. Ward Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2019-20 school year!  Whether you are a returning family or new to Emma B. Ward, we are thrilled you will be with us! We recognize that in order to be successful in school, children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for the success of all students and want you to know that we will work diligently to carry out our responsibilities.   Our mission at Emma B. Ward is to:

  • Foster positive relationships

  • Obtain skills to learn and grow

  • Respect ourselves, school, and others

  • Work toward common goals

  • Achieve our personal best

  • Recognize our successes

  • Dedicate ourselves to life-long learning

I would like to invite you to attend our Back-to-School Open House on Tuesday, August 6th from 4:00-7:00.  Stop by at your convenience to visit your classroom, meet your teachers and staff, drop off school supplies and learn about the Emma B. Ward community.

Please also consider attending our first PTO Membership Drive of the 2019-2020 school year. Membership is FREE. Come learn about volunteer opportunities and ways to support your child’s school!

Where: EBW Cafeteria

When: Aug. 19, 2019

Time: 6:00 pm

I believe communication is a vital component of a successful school year.  Watch for information to come home in your child’s backpack, classroom newsletters/emails, the EBW website,  One Call voice or text messages, and our Facebook page. I value your input and am happy to meet with you as well.

The Emma B. Ward staff and I feel privileged to be a part of your school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you soon.

Respectfully,

Kim Hubbard, MEd
