Attached is the Terroristic Threatening Letter; the purpose of this letter is to notify all parents/guardians, students and community members that school district officials [in coordination with responding law enforcement agencies] will pursue immediate legal charges for felony terroristic threatening in the second degree to the absolute fullest extent of the law against anyone who makes such threats to any staff member or student.

ACHS Renovation
As many of you may know, Anderson County High School’s main building was opened in the late 1960’s. Since that time, there have been several additions and improvements to the building and this summer, the Board  approved some additional updates to much of the original portion of the structure.

Seniors Who Plan To Co-op, Intern Or Be An Apprentice This Year
Any SENIOR who plans to co-op, intern, or be an apprentice this year through ACHS, CTE classes, or Trailblazer Academy, should have submitted an application in May. Please stop by and pick up an application or e-mail Mrs. Wells to send you one, if you have not done so. All Work-Based Learning seniors will need to attend an orientation on July 29, 2019, 6:00 pm in auditorium. Applications will be accepted that evening. Students will learn expectations, receive employer agreement information, and sign-up for interviews. This is a critical first step in the co-op process. Contact Mrs. Wells for further information.
Boys Soccer Tryouts
Boys soccer tryouts will be on Monday, July 15th and Tuesday, July 16th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the ACHS soccer field. For those players interested in trying out for the 2019 team, you are required to bring an updated/valid KHSAA physical to be allowed to stay along with water, tennis shoes, cleats, shin guards and a soccer ball. We are looking forward to the season getting started.
All students will receive a copy of their schedules on the first day of school; however, schedules will be posted in parent/student portal on July 22, 2019. Students who would like to discuss their schedules may come to school July 24th, 25th, 30th, and 31st, between 8:00 and 3:00 for schedule consultations. Counselors will be taking lunch from 12-1. Any changes will be based on master schedule openings, initial student requests, and required coursework.  There will be NO schedule changes after school begins per SBDM policy. Early College/BCTC/AP students may contact Mrs. Wells, to discuss issues, and set up an appointment if they have questions or concerns regarding their schedules.  See our school website for additional information and pay attention to BCTC Remind 101 texts. (To join text @achsbc to 81010.)
9th and 10th Grade Students Who Met Benchmarks on 8th Grade MAPS and 9th Grade Star Testing
Ninth and tenth grade students, who met percentile benchmarks on 8th grade MAPs and 9th grade STAR testing, received a letter at the end of school year regarding a potential opportunity for Early College/BCTC classes.  The Site Based Decision Making council has tabled the discussion to further research educational impacts of this decision for students, staff, and our school's curriculum and graduation requirements.

Thus, students' schedules for 19-20 will follow their intended selections from the spring advising/scheduling process.  More information will be made available about the future of extending the Early College program as decisions are made.
