Chromebook Pickup Procedures
Parents and Students,

ACHS will begin distributing Chromebooks to all students beginning Wednesday, August 26 - Monday, August 31, 2020. To obtain your Chromebook, please complete the ACSchools Student Device Checkout Agreement form that was mailed to each household. You may also print a copy of the form using this link.

On your designated day to pick up your device, bring your completed form and enter via the media center doors. A staff member will be there to greet you and direct you to the next available table. Once you’ve picked up your device you will exit from the opposing media center doors to avoid cross traffic. Signs will be posted for your convenience and safety. With that stated, please note, no one will be allowed to enter the building if they are not following proper guidelines of wearing a mask. No exceptions and masks are not provided at this time.

The following dates are designated for each grade level to pick up their Chromebooks:

August 26, 2020 - 12th grade [10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.]
August 27, 2020 - 11th grade [10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.]
August 28, 2020 - 10th grade [10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.]
August 31, 2020 - 9th grade [10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.]

Free/Reduced Meal Applications Online
Anderson County Schools now offers families the option to fill out a free-reduced meals application online. To participate, simply visit: and click on the "GET STARTED" button in the middle of the page or fill in the zip code at the "Find your District" prompt at the bottom. Read all directions on the website and complete the process. Also, please remember that paper applications will still be sent home with the students who attend Anderson County High School, Anderson County Middle School, Robert B. Turner Elementary School, and Emma B. Ward Elementary School.  Only one application per family is needed. Graduation Cancelled for August 8, 2020

Bearcat Families,


Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the community and minimal student interest, Anderson County High School has decided to cancel the in-person graduation ceremony scheduled for this Saturday, August 8th.  In the past month, we have administered multiple surveys to the Class of 2020.  This morning we reviewed the most recent google survey, which was made available to students last week, to determine interest in participation for the in-person graduation.  Fifty students acknowledged that they would be in attendance, and sixteen responded that they would not attend.  We realize that the cancellation of the in-person graduation will be disappointing to some students and their families; however, we feel this is the safest option for all parties involved at this time.  As always, we appreciate your support as we make difficult decisions during these trying times. 

 
ACHS 2020 Graduation Ceremony Survey
This survey is only for the 2020 seniors to answer. To get adequate numbers on senior participants, please indicate with a Yes or No if you plan on attending the ACHS Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. The ceremony will be held on the ACHS football field.

Vehicle Registration Form and Parking Plan
ACHS students are required to complete the Vehicle Registration Form yearly to park on campus. Once all fields are completed, please turn in your form to Ms. Warford in the West Wing Office [formerly the Main Office] to obtain your parking pass. You may also obtain a form in the West Wing Office. Students must display their passes on their rearview mirrors. Parking checks will be made periodically to ensure students are parking on campus legally. The ACHS Parking Plan is also attached. Please make sure to read it in order to know the parking lot procedures for student pick-up, drop off, student driver parking, faculty parking and visitor parking.
 
2020 Graduation Ceremony

Good afternoon, Bearcat families!

Over the past couple of weeks, ACHS provided all Class of 2020 students with a survey regarding their interest in an in-person prom and graduation.  Results from the survey indicate that roughly 55% of students have no interest in a prom at this point in time.  Approximately 75% of students indicated that they would like to have an in-person graduation ceremony.  

Based on the survey data and if allowed by state/local protocols, ACHS will be hosting an in-person graduation on August 8th at 9:00 AM on the ACHS football field.  We will be working with the Health Department to make sure procedures are in place to keep everyone as safe as possible.

COVID-19 Plan and Learning Environment Descriptions

Schedule Changes for 2020-2021
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to COVID-19 protocols, classroom numbers are being tightly monitored. Thus, the only schedule changes will be those that impact the student's individual learning plan, i.e. career pathway, graduation requirements, dual credit, and/or credit recovery/intervention needs. 
 
Directions: Type your first and last name to schedule an available time slot with a couselor. Please be on time for your online appointment or you may have to reschedule. You must use your school email account. You will be sent a Google Meet invite via your school email to conduct your appointment. Check your email periodically fir confirmation. Click on the link provided in the email prior to your appointment time. We will adhere to the fifteen minute guideline for conversations. *Scroll to the right to access Friday, July 31. If you are a new student, please schedule two consecutive time slots. If you are a BCTC student, please schedule with Mrs. Wells.

Awards and Scholarships Videos
The following video contains the scholarships that students, parents, and/or community members made us aware of as of June 9, 2020. There are a couple of local scholarships we have not heard from to know if scholarships have been awarded. The Class of 2020 graduates included in the video are ones that earned scholarships, departmental awards, Transition Readiness medals, ACT 30 Point Club medals, 3.6 GPA cords, and/or Distinguished Bearcat red mortar boards.

Senior Announcement
The graduation ceremony will be availabe Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.  Use this link to access the video of the ceremony. Senior spring sport athlete banners are up on Main Street. After the 31st, you may pick up your senior banners from the Legion as well.
 
Baccalaureate Cancelled
The Baccalaureate service for Sunday, May 17, 2020 will be cancelled.  
Virtual Graduation Appointments and Procedures
Attention ACHS Seniors and Parent/Guardians:
You will need to follow the BEFORE GRADUATION instructions to sign-up for your appointment.  Then review the DAY OF GRADUATION instructions to be prepared for the ceremony.

BEFORE GRADUATION:
Please use the following link to sign up for your virtual graduation appointment. Instructions are also included. Virtual appointments are May 18-20 from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. If you're having any issues, plase email Dustin Fore at dustin.fore@anderson.kyschools.us. Click this link to confirm your graduation times.

DAY OF GRADUATION:
* Students will need to wear cap, gown, and any cords, collars, or medals that they have earned from ACHS.
* Up to four parent/guardians may come with the students. (The Health Department stipulates that no grandparents may attend unless they are the legal guardians.) 
* Show up at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
* Park in the Student Parking Lot (A) near the auditorium and report to one of the staff members in the parking lot that you are present. A diagram is included by clicking on the heading above.
* Staff members will then direct you to the holding areas as we move the procession of students and their guests throughout the process.
* When you exit your vehicle, the student and parents/guardians will need to be wearing PPE, including a face covering, and follow the directions of staff.
* Once you arrive inside, you may remove your PPE for pictures.  The senior will walk across the stage and pick up his/her diploma from a stand, hold it up and pose for a picture with Superintendent Mitchell and Principal Glass.  Mr. Glass will then have the student turn his/her tassel, face the camera and toss cap in the air for a second picture. Then the student will return to guests and exit out of the side auditorium door. 

** Students who will be speaking as part of the ceremony will be called to set-up a separate recording time.  Students should be appropriately dressed in caps, gowns, and accessories for this part of the ceremony as well.

On May 30, at 3:00 p.m. the ACHS Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be ready for viewing by students and their families from home.  More specific information about access and copies will follow.  Please continue to check back to ACHS website and Facebook for all senior activities and end of the year details.    
 
Pickup for Caps/Gowns, T-shirts, and Awards

Please see the map and directions below for pickup on Monday, May 11th from 1-3pm. Please follow the route provided to pick up you t-shirt, awards, and cap/gown that day. After picking up at the high school please drive by SECC, your elementary school, and the middle school so your former teachers can congratulate you. #GOCATS #WEAREANDERSON

 
Final Transcripts Information
Your school email address will only be available for a month or so after you graduate so you will need to change your email address you have used on Parchment.com.  I have attached a link below to show you how to change your email address you currently have (typically it is your ACHS email) to a personal email so that you can get into your Parchment account after graduation.  

Also, I wanted to make you aware that you can use Parchment.com for free until August 1, 2020.  After that, you can still use Parchment but they will be charging you a fee.  

If you haven't ordered your final transcript yet, I have attached a guide to help you through the process.
