Car riders dismissed – 3:00 PM

Please park in the parking lot if you plan to come into the building.  All visitors must enter through the front door. Students arriving after 8am will need to enter through the front doors and sign in.

Any child entering prior to 7:25 will be charged a drop -in fee from our daycare.

Afternoon Student Pick Up Procedures

1.  Pull forward in the back of the building.

2.  Your car pick up tag must remain hung on the rearview mirror prior to pulling up beside the building.

3.  Students will be called by number and delivered to your car.

4.  Once all cars are full, a staff member will direct the traffic to exit the driveway.

It is imperative that you remain in your car.  Students will be dismissed based upon the number showing in the car.  Changes in plans must be reported to the office no later than 2:00p.m.

If you do not have a pick up tag, you must enter the office with an ID in order to take your child from school after 3:20.

Please note:
If your child will be riding home with a friend, he/she will need a permission note or email in the office  by 2:00 p.m. A car pass will be written by the school in order for your child to leave.  If you have a family member or another person picking up your child, they will need to either 1) have the car tag OR 2) come to the office with an ID to pick up the child.

Please pick up your child on time.  Children must be picked up by 3:25 p.m. as teachers and staff in charge of the afternoon duty are required to attend meetings and planning sessions directly after school.  If your child is not picked up by 3:25 p.m., they will be placed in the EBW after-school daycare.  There will be a charge for the after school care.

We ask, too, that you share these rules with anyone else that may have to pick your child up this year.  We appreciate your help and cooperation in keeping our students safe!

Lost and Found

The FRC is responsible for keeping the Lost and Found at EBW.   All clothes, jackets, and lunch boxes that are left in the gym, cafeteria, or classrooms are brought to FRC.  Parents, if your child is missing one of these items, please check the lost and found area outside the FRC office.  At the end of every month all items that are not accounted for will be donated to Goodwill.   If items show up with names on them, we make every effort to get them back to those students. If you have questions or would like to contact us about coming by to look through the items for something that belongs to your child, please let us know.

High Attendance Day ~ Thursday, September 20th

The Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel have designated Tuesday September 20 as statewide “High Attendance Day” to emphasize that consistent attendance is essential for success in school. Emma B. Ward is working hard to promote perfect attendance, because we know that students who are at school on time have a higher success rate than those who aren't.

On High Attendance Day, Kentucky’s public elementary, middle and high schools may compete in small-school or large-school categories. Six winners will be determined statewide based on each individual school’s performance, regardless of its district’s showing. The school in each category with the highest percentage attendance for September 20 will receive a minimum $500. If the school has more than 500 students, the award will increase based on enrollment.
