Seniors don't forget to send your final transcript to the school you are going to Fall of 2023. Hi all, I thought you might be interested in BCTC’s new “Fast Track” program, which is geared (in part) towards graduating high school seniors who don’t yet have postsecondary plans. - Variety of Summer and Fall 2023 start dates
- All of the programs include postsecondary credential(s) that can be earned in a relatively short period of time. These are great opportunities for students who aren’t able to commit to a full 2-year or 4-year program of study right now.
- Most of the programs are Work Ready Eligible (no out-of-pocket tuition costs for the student.)
Students should complete the online form (linked at the top of the webpage listed above) to get started. Please feel free to share with anyone in your network who may be interested! Hello! My name is Hannah Litkenhous, and I am the Volunteer Program Coordinator for the Kentucky Historical Society. Our campus is located in downtown Frankfort. We work to serve the local community and the whole of the Commonwealth by interpreting Kentucky's past. We host various special events and programs, from our First Friday lecture series to camps. But to make these events happen, we need the assistance of our community members. Currently, we have an increased demand for in-person programming and field trips. That is why I am reaching out to you today. We are in need of volunteers! Specifically, for our VolunTeen Ambassador program, teens ages 13-17 can assist KHS staff with our programs, including Scouting workshops, special events, and our signature school break camps. This is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience, earn valuable service hours for scholarship applications, and meet new friends! Each week of volunteer hours for summer camp totals around 35+, quickly meeting many service club and scholarship eligibility requirements. Plus, we offer many of these opportunities throughout the school year. All new volunteers must apply, interview, and complete a waiver packet and training. Our current training is set for Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 9:00 am and is required for all new and returning VolunTeens. So, be a part of KHS, and join our mission to educate and engage the public through Kentucky history in order to confront the challenges of the future. I hope to prevail upon you to share our inquiry with your group and networks. Whether that is posting our flyer on your community board, forwarding this email, or making an announcement at your next organizational meeting. We'd be happy for any support that you can give. Folks interested in becoming VolunTeen Ambassadors for KHS can find more information and apply on our website. Hannah Litkenhous Visitor Services Manager Kentucky Historical Society 100 W.
