ACHS Teacher Receives CKEC Outstanding Educator Award

The Central Kentucky Educational Cooperative has recognized Candy Rollins as one of their 2014 Outstanding Educator Award recipients. She received a plaque for her accomplishment at a ceremony held in Lexington on May 16, 2014.

“Candy Rollins is beyond dedicated in ensuring successful post -secondary transitions for students with disabilities in Anderson County. With grant support from CKEC, Ms. Rollins developed and carried out a community transition fair focused on "building connections" between families of students with disabilities and outside community agencies dedicated to provide support to those families. Over 20 different agencies were represented and over 35 families participated. On a daily basis Ms. Rollins assists families utilize services from Vocational Rehabilitation, coordinate and takes students on postsecondary educational visits (technical centers, colleges, Carl Perkins Vocational Training Center, etc.), provides special education services to students attending the Harrodsburg Area Technical Center, and runs the Scratching Post that builds a tremendous level of school pride. It is my great honor to recognize Candy Rollins as Anderson County's Outstanding Educator.”
