Students should complete DAY 4 assignments  in the NTI folder that was sent  home with your child in December along with the informational letter. Students will be expected to complete the work for NTI DAY 4 only on January 22nd .  Students are expected to complete and return all class assignments for NTI days 1 through 4 to each teacher on the next in-person school day.   If your child does not have his/her NTI folder at home, you can access the assignments by clicking on "ACMS 2023-24 NTI Class Assignments" on the left side of the webpage.  Assignments for each grade level are linked on that page for you to print at home.

ACMS will not be doing required google meets or online lesson requirements during NTI days.  Students should follow the schedule below to complete their assignments in a timely manner. Teachers will be available on NTI days to assist or answer any questions students may have for each class period. on the schedule below. Students and/or parents should contact the teacher by email to request support with the daily lesson or call the school (502-839-8261) between 8 AM-3 PM for assistance with contacting the teachers. Teachers will reply by email, phone call, or schedule a google meet with the student or parent using their personal technology devices. 

Again, please call the school office or contact your child's teachers by email if you have any questions or need support.  Staff will be available from 8 AM to 3 PM on NTI days to support students and parents.

ACMS will be offering Extended School Services (ESS) beginning January 30, 2024 through mid to late April.   This program is made available to students who need more time and additional instruction on specific academic skills to perform better in their core classes.  It will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 4:15. 

Transportation is available on some days; however, we need to make those arrangements as soon as possible.  Please note that students who live in the Turner district will only be provided with bus transportation on Tuesdays. Students who live in the Saffell or Ward districts will have bus transportation provided on Wednesdays and Thursdays only.  Students that do not need bus transportation can walk home or be picked up at 4:15 each of the days.  Students can attend one, two, or all three days depending on your transportation needs. 

English/Language Arts help will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for all 3 grade levels.
Math help will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for all 3 grade levels.
8th-grade Social Studies help will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
6th and 7th-grade Science help will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 

Good attendance and behavior are required for participation in our ESS program.   Please complete the form below to get your student signed up for the service.

We are excited to see our students on Thursday, August 10th.   Below are some important reminders for the upcoming school year at ACMS.

All students will report to their advisory class each morning.  Staff members will be at each entrance and all through the building to help students get to their advisory classroom.  Parents should drop their children off at school if they are not riding the bus.  

On Thursday, August 10th, each student will receive a copy of their daily schedule from their advisory teacher. 

Our doors will open at 7:25 AM each morning.  Students must be in their advisory class by 8 AM to not be considered tardy to school. Dismissal will begin at 3 PM with buses being dismissed first.   We ask for your patience and understanding with dismissal on the first few days of school as we take extra time to ensure students get to the right location. 

Morning Arrival - Car Rider Drop Off
  • Car rider drop-off is in back parking lot.  Parents, please do not park to bring your child in the building. 
  • All students will enter at door 10
  • Two lines of traffic - please use both to make morning traffic flow more efficiently  (both red and blue lanes shown on the back parking lot diagram below)
  • Outside lane -- have student exit car and go to adult in middle of lanes to cross with adult supervision
  • Inside lane -- have student exit car onto the sidewalk and walk to door 10
  • Please pull forward until the traffic stops, then have your child exit.
  • Please do not wait to pull up to the entrance before your child exits the car.

Morning Arrival - Bus Riders
  • Bus Riders will be dropped off in the front of the building.
  • All students will enter at main entrance - Door #1

Breakfast Opportunity
  • Students have the opportunity to go the cafeteria to pick up a breakfast as they enter the school.
  • If a student wants breakfast, he/she must go to the cafeteria immediately when they enter the school building, then take their breakfast with them to advisory class. 

Parking & Visitors During School Hours
  • The front driveway at the ACMS main entrance is closed from 8 AM-4 PM each week day. 
  • All visitors are expected to park in one of the front parking lots.
  • All visitors are expected to show a valid state issued driver's license or identification card at the front door along with stating their purpose of visit to ACMS before being allowed into the building.
  • Visitors must have made an appointment prior to arrival if they need to meet with a school employee for any reason.

Afternoon Dismissal
  • All parents/guardians who plan to pick up their child at the end of the school day must park in one of the front parking lots if arriving prior to 3:05 PM, before buses are dismissed.
  • 6th and 7th grade students will be picked up in the back parking lot following bus dismissal. Please use both lanes of traffic (red and blue lanes in the back parking lot diagram link below)
  • 8th grade students will be picked up in the front parking lot section B only.  
  • 6th and 7th grade parents/guardians who pick up their child will be directed by a staff member when it is time to enter the back parking lot for pick up.
  • All parents/guardians of 8th grade students who plan to pick up  their child must park in parking lot B.  Students will only be dismissed to the parking lot for pick up.  Cars will not be permitted to drive up the front drive way.  
  • Please do not park anywhere along Mustang Trial for afternoon dismissal for the safety of our students and bus drivers.

Free Breakfast/Lunches
  • Anderson County Schools are participating in the Community Eligibility Provision program for free meals during the school day.
  • All students are eligible to have a free breakfast and lunch from ACMS.    
  • NOTE: Students may also bring their own lunch from home if they choose. 

Student Usage of Cell Phones
  • Students will be required to place their cell phone in an assigned location in each classroom each period.  
  • Students will have school issued chromebooks for use for technology for instruction during class time. Therefore, cell phones are not needed for instructional purposes.  School issued chromebooks will not be going home with students this year.
  • Students will not be permitted to use their cell phones during class time or lunch time.  
  • In the event of a school emergency or medical necessity, students will have immediate access to their cell phones.
  • Parents will need to call the front office 502-839-9261 if they need to give a necessary message, such as change in afternoon transportation method home, to their child.
