The Saffell Street Elementary Site Based Decision Making council has selected Mr. Todd Wooldridge as the new School Principal
A Message from new SSE Principal Todd Wooldridge:
What an honor to be able to join Anderson County Public Schools as Principal for Saffell Street Elementary. I am anxious to learn all about staff, families, and other school community members of Saffell Street.
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and a principal. I believe there are benefits to being a part of an extended family. I grew up in a large family, and family is what I want in a school.
After graduating Western Hills High School in Frankfort, KY, I attended Kentucky State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Shortly after graduation, I obtained my first teaching position at Hearn Elementary School in Frankfort.
For the next 7 years, I taught 4th and 5th grades and served on the school’s SBDM council, was academic coach, and a member of the Teacher Leader Network. In 2011, I completed my Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership at the University of the Cumberlands. For the 2013-2014 school year, I served as the Interim Principal for Elkhorn Elementary in Frankfort.
I am married and my wife, Andrea, is a 5th grade teacher at Bridgeport Elementary School in Frankfort. We have two beautiful children, Molly who is 6 and Lane, who is 11 months old. Some of our favorite family pastimes are horseback riding, swimming, playing softball and volleyball, camping and just hanging out with friends and family.
Throughout the upcoming school year, I look forward to hearing from students, parents, grandparents and guardians as we forge ahead. We all want our school to be an enriching and rewarding experience and we will work together to make sure our students reach their full potential. I look forward to a school year where parents, teachers and students are partners, and hope that we grow to feel like family. Research shows that students achieve more when parents and guardians are active in the school.
Thank you for selecting me as your new principal. I can’t wait to begin my new adventure with Anderson County Schools at Saffell Street Elementary.
