Field Day Info

FIELD DAY IS TUESDAY, MAY 24!!!!!!!

Basic Info

This year field day is on Tuesday, May 24th. Field Day will go on if there are only sprinkles or we know the rain will move out of the area quickly.

We will be continuing the practice of allowing children to bring some sort of container that they may carry around with them to have access to water when they need it. This container may be any type (except glass), so long as it has a sealable top. Example: water bottles, rinsed out soda bottle, Gatorade bottle, etc. I do ask that your student either bring the bottle to school empty or with water only.

Secondly, please write the student’s name on the bottle. I am sure we will have many that will look exactly alike.

There will be water coolers set-up all around the field day activities for the water bottles to be refilled when needed.

Health Needs and Concerns
We are making arrangements to have our school nurse here on field day to take care of those minor injuries that seem to occur. If you have any health needs or concerns for your child on field day please write your child’s teacher a note. Please include the following information: Title: Field Day Health Needs or Concerns, include your child’s name and Teacher’s name , the health need or concern you want us to address, and a phone # you may be reached during field day.

What to Wear!
The kids should wear clothes that they can get somewhat wet (6 stations involve water), but not a bathing suit. They should also wear socks and tennis shoes. NO FLIP-FLOPS PLEASE. Due to field day being all day event, you might want to consider sending an extra pair of shoes and socks (maybe even shirt and shorts). The grass will still be wet from the dew for the morning events and we might encounter a sprinkle or two.

I would also advise you to send some sunscreen protection with your child. They will be outside for approximately 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.

Lastly, don’t forget the water bottle with the student’s name marked on it mentioned in one of the previous sections.

Schedule
Field Day activities will begin at 9:00 until 11:00. If you have signed up to work the AM shift please show up about 15 minutes early to get your assignment, meet your Area Leader and review the rules to your game.

We will break for LUNCH from 11-12 (students will be eating in their classrooms or outside as directed by the teacher).

Field Day will resume at 12:00 until 2:00. If you have signed up for a PM shift please show up about 15 minutes early to get your assignment, meet your Area Leader and review the rules to your game. Students will return to their classrooms and finish out the day.
