Dear Counselor,

Whether your students are back in school, learning remotely, or participating in a hybrid model, we know they're working closely with you on their journey to college. The College Board Opportunity Scholarships program was created to help your students complete steps for college while earning the chance at scholarships. Encourage your seniors to sign up for the program at cb.org/opportunity for a guide to college and a path to scholarships.

The first step in helping your students earn scholarships is to take the College Board Opportunity Scholarships pledge. When you sign up for the pledge, you'll receive a free digital toolkit as well as monthly reminders and resources.

Take the Pledge

Most students need financial aid to help pay for college. By completing the FAFSA®, students might qualify for thousands of dollars in federal grants, work-study, low-cost loans, and state and college scholarships. There's no other way to gain access to this money.

Encourage your students to complete the FAFSA and earn a chance at a $1,000 scholarship.

Completing the FAFSA is an urgent and important step—not just for accessing financial aid, but for staying on track to enroll in college. Research shows that 90% of students who complete the FAFSA enroll immediately in college—versus only 55% of students who don't file.

Between October and February, the College Board will award $800,000 to seniors who complete the FAFSA.

Tell your students to visit getfafsahelp.org for instructions on how to sign up for Wyatt?, a free FAFSA assistance chatbot that answers their questions by text. When students sign up for Wyatt and text their financial aid questions, Wyatt sends answers via text, a familiar medium that doesn't require internet access. Wyatt is available 24/7.

Seniors: Complete the FAFSA

Scholarship Tip: Complete the FAFSA for a Chance to Earn $1,000 for College

Thank you for your commitment to your students.

Sincerely,

College Board
