Kentucky Association of School Business Officials (KASBO) awards $2,500 to three Kentucky high school graduating seniors who will major in business or education. 

 

Please go to our website at www.kasbo.com to find the scholarship application, instructions and a counselor verification form. 

 

The deadline for submission is December 14, 2018.  Please note NO handwritten applications are allowed.  Please do not staple pages together.

Now through November 30th, 2018, we are waiving the $40 application fee for first-time, full-time freshmen who will start in the Fall of 2019. If you have any seniors who have been thinking about applying to NKU - now is the time! 

All they need to do is go to nku.edu/apply and fill out the undergraduate application. Once they submit the application, they will see a screen stating that their fee has been waived.

Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship Program

The Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship (WRKS) helps Kentuckians who have not yet earned an associate's degree afford an industry-recognized certificate or diploma. The WRKS program is available to college students and certain high school students who are enrolled in college coursework. Scroll down to see the high school student requirements.

=         A college student must:

o    Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

o    Be a Kentucky resident

o    Be a high school graduate or be enrolled in or have completed a General Educational Development (GED) Program

o    Have not earned an associate's or higher degree

o    Be enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, at an eligible postsecondary institution in an approved program of study that leads to an industry recognized certificate or diploma or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a high-demand workforce sector.

§  Qualifying areas for the 2018-2019 year are health care, advanced manufacturing, transportation/logistics, business services/IT, and construction

o    Not be enrolled concurrently in a degree-seeking program at the same or any other institution

o    Maintain satisfactory academic progress as determined by the eligible postsecondary institution

o    Not be in default on any Title IV program or KHEAA administered program

=         College student application:

o    FAFSA

o    Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship application. Sign in to apply. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis by WRKS application date

=         College student award:

o    Amount equals the amount remaining after subtracting federal and state grants and scholarships from the tuition and fees assessed by the student's eligible institution

o    Maximum award amount shall not exceed the in-state tuition and fees rate for full-time enrollment at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System

o    The amount awarded for fees shall not exceed $400 per year

=         Eligibility:

o    Expires when the first of the following conditions is met:

§  Receipt of scholarship funding for four academic terms;

§  Receipt of the scholarship for 60 credit hours of enrollment; or

§  Receipt of a first associate's degree
