Shannon Carpenter

My name is Shannon Carpenter. I would like to volunteer my time and serve for you on the ACHS SBDM for the 2017-2018 academic year. In the past, I have served on the Turner Elementary Council, for which I am very grateful.  I have learned the importance of the voice of the parents when it comes to difficult decisions made by the Council.

I have lived in Lawrenceburg all of my life, and I graduated from Anderson County High School in 1991. I have been married to Chip Carpenter for 18 years and our son, Alex Carpenter, will be a sophomore at ACHS this year. My mother is Pat Poole Graves who worked in the Anderson County school system for over 25 years. My family is active in the community and with our church.

Many students know me as a “second mother,” and as such I have a serious interest in student success.

I am a strong believer that the success of our children’s education is truly due to a partnership between parents/guardians and their teachers, and I do my best to stay involved. As a Mom, it is my goal to make decisions based on what is best for ALL kids. I am passionate about helping to create environments where kids can achieve and succeed. I look forward to expressing ideas that represent those parents who cannot always attend.

I am asking for your vote and I hope that you will allow me to be the voice of the parents! I would be honored to serve on this Council. Thank you for considering me!!
