Transportation Director Selection Criteria and Expectations

Using data collected from a public survey (Results Attached), the following criteria and expectations have been set and will be used when interviewing candidates for ACSchools Transportation Director:

Transportation Director Selection Criteria and Expectations – 2018 

1.      Leadership experience with transportation department knowledge to include:

=       Knowledge and Adheres to State and Federal Regulations

=       Driver CDL

=       Driver Trainer Training (Experience or willingness to get trained)

=       Mechanic Knowledge

=       Managing  and Monitoring Staff

=       Skills to influence others

=       Problem Solver and Thinks on Feet

2.     Good organizational skills, communication skills including:

=       Promptly returns calls and resolves concerns in a timely manner

=       Schedules and set routes efficiently and effectively

=       Manages computer program effectively – GPS, cameras, work orders, maintenance schedules etc. 

=       Completes paperwork in a timely manner and in adherence to regulation

3.     Follows through and monitors expectations including:

=       Staff expectations and staff conflict

=       Resolving parent concerns

=       Required documents for mechanics and drivers

=       Evaluations for all staff and rides buses providing driver  feedback for evaluation

=       Student discipline concerns

4.     Supervises effectively:

=       Drivers and monitors

=       Mechanics

=       Driver Trainers

=       Office Staff

5.     Safety checks for:

=       Students

=       Staff

=       Safe, positive work environment

6.     Manages:

=       Time

=       Resources

=       Personnel

7.     Training Skills and Knowledge for:

=       Professional Develop and 8 hour updates

8.     Leadership Skills:

=       Leadership Experience

=       Integrity, Trustworthy, Consistent and Fair
