Weekly Update [May 10, 2018]

****Just a reminder that All of Anderson County School System will be with out email from 3:30 pm today until Monday morning.***

The Kentucky Department of Education is in the process of updating email infrastructure for all districts across the state. As a part of this process, we will be moving all staff and student email from Microsoft Outlook to Google Gmail. Our official “moving date” is Thursday, May 10th. All staff and student email addresses will remain the same.  The Gmail account is not active and cannot send/receive email until the May 14th.


On Demad State testing is on May 15th for all juniors.

No School on May 22nd for Election Day.

No School on May 28th for Memorial Day.

Senior final exams:
May 29th- 2nd and 4th period finals
May 30th-1st, 3rd, and 5th period finals

Graduation practice is at 8:30 am on May 31st in gym A.  If you are late you will be placed in the back of the procession line. 

May 31st at 6:30 pm is graduation at the Exum Center at Kentucky State University in Frankfort. 


Project Graduation will be June 1st starting at 10:30 pm at ACHS. 


9th-11th grade final exams:
June 1st-2nd and 4th period finals
June 4th-1st, 3rd, and 5th period finals


Last day of school is Monday June 4th.


Attention sophomores and juniors, who plan on taking BCTC classes next year:


  1. If you missed the April 26th meeting, you need to stop by Mrs. Wells' office to pick-up handouts and the application forms.
  2. Any student, who has not met benchmark criteria will need to do make-up testing.  options are re-taking the ACT in June or taking the placement test at BCTC. Students may sign-up on Mrs. Wells' door to take or re-take the Wonderlic on May 9th: 8:30 a.m., 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.  Parent transportation must be provided. Students must turn in their scores to Mrs. Wells the next day.  Otherwise, summer walk-in testing hours are 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  3. All students must apply by May 30, 2018 for fall semester.  All criteria must be met and students must have registered for classes with Mrs. Wells by August 1, 2018. No exceptions!
  4. BCTC orientation will be in August before school begins.  All scheduling appointments and orientation information will be sent out by Remind 101. 

    All students should sign up for Mrs. Wells’ Remind 101—enter 81010; text @achsbc.  Parents may also sign-up as well.

Kentucky residents have chance to win iPad Pro in KHEAA drawing
 
FRANKFORT, Ky. (April 16, 2018) — Kentucky residents have another chance to win a new iPad from the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) in a sweepstakes being held through Facebook in May. The contest runs from 12 a.m. on May 1 through 12 a.m. on June 1.
To enter, a Kentuckian must visit the KHEAA Facebook page, click on the “Giveaway” tab on the left side of the page and answer one question about college. On a mobile device, the giveaway post is pinned to the top of the KHEAA Facebook page. KHEAA will not share or sell any personal information to a third party.
Only Kentucky residents are eligible. Employees of KHEAA or its sister agency, the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation (KHESLC), and their immediate family members are not eligible. Prior winners are also not eligible.
The drawing will be held in early June, and the winner will be notified by email. The winner must respond by email within three calendar days to receive the iPad Pro. If no response is received within three days, another winner will be drawn.
KHEAA is the state agency that administers the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES), need-based grants and other programs to help students pay their higher education expenses.
