Search and Seizure Policy Update
The Anderson County Board of Education Search and Seizure policy was updated at the July 2018 board meeting to include procedures for the use of mobile metal detectors (attached). While the policy and procedures are now in place, ACSchools will implement random checks with metal detectors after Labor Day for middle and high school students, allowing students, parents and community members ample time to see the policy and have questions answered. All students will receive a copy of the policy and procedures with the district Code of Conduct and will gather in grade level meetings to discuss at the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year. Parents will have the opportunity to have questions answered at school open houses, parent nights or by contacting school administration by phone or email. The Anderson County Sheriff Department will provide staff training. Thank you for supporting Anderson County Schools.
