Visit the links on the left to check out what's going on in our various class offerings. We offer other classes from year to year, and these will be added in the future.
Students in this class get an overview of Technology. We define technology, systems, and design. Then we study the six areas of technology and complete projects relative to these areas.
Actually titled Drafting and AutoCAD, this class focuses on the basics of board drafting, and the software AutoCAD. Students learn the basic visual language of mechanical drafting. This is a first stepping stone into the field of Engineering.
In the Graphics classes students are introduced to the programs Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. They learn the 4 principles of Design, then using these principles and these programs, students design and create various projects such as t-shirts, business packages, digital photos, vinyl decals, heat transfer images, and others.
STLP has been under new leadership for the past two years, and progress has been promising, although a bit slower than hoped for. We are working on projects for the upcoming competitions this year, and are hopeful that we will do well. Some projects will be posted online in order to be submitted electronically. Follow the STLP link to the left to find these. Other competitions will take place in Rupp Arena in May this year.
