NEW for 2011-2012
The school year started with a bang! Here are some of the wonderful and excited musical things that went on for us the first half of the year! All District Elementary Honors Choir was held at ACHS on November 15th. There were students selected from each elementary school to participate in the 5th Annual Honors Choir event under the direction of Mrs. Sue Lou Smith, ACHS Choral Director!. Our students were bussed to ACHS for an all day workshop led by Mrs. Smith and assited by the Elementary Music Specialists. A community concert was held at 6:00 that evening. ACHS Advanced Chorus joined the Honors choir on the final number and Greg Breeding was our guest instrumentalist on the Banjo. Special thanks to Edwardos Pizza, Kroger & Walmart for donating food items for this event. Special thanks to Sheila Mitchell and the ACBOE for purchaseing necessary music and providing the bus and sub funding to make this event possible.
