Anderson County Schools

Our Literacy Curriculum consists of several components to help students make the connection between Reading and Writing.  It includes the five components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency and handwriting and writer's workshop.  We implement several different programs to assist us in the process and they are Breakthrough to Literacy, Lexia Reading, LIPS, Lucy Caulkins' Writing Curriculum, and Handwriting without Tears.
The main goal for our students is to experience success in all areas of literacy by guiding them through the learning process.
